Katie Wuori currently works at Stratton School in Stratton, Maine as the Garden and Nutrition Coordinator for grades Pre-K through 8th grade. She holds a Masters in Education with a focus in Curriculum Development and Writing and is a certified elementary school teacher. She also has a BA in Developmental Psychology, endorsements in Special Education and Gifted and Talented.
Katie is a licensed Maine Guide and has her 50 ton Captain’s licensed with a Sailing Endorsement. She grew up in Islesboro, Maine, where she and her siblings spent their childhood learning about organic, sustainable living and farming, along with the love of growing, preserving, and eating local foods from her parents.
Katie is the co-author of “Growing Gardeners,” a Kindergarten through 8th grade curriculum program which links Maine Learning Standards with project-based learning activities through gardening and nutrition, published by Greater Franklin Food Council.
