Promoting and Supporting Educational Gardens for Youth
The Maine School Garden Network is working to support the ReTreeUS Back to School Garden Program
Looking for a low maintenance approach for your school garden designed to fit the school calendar? The Back to School Garden Program aligns the school garden and the school year by having students plant vegetables in the spring that require very minimal maintenance over the summer, produce a great harvest when students return to school in the fall, and enable students to plant seedlings of greens sourced from organic farms to extend the season.
Want to know more? To explore the benefits of the program, check out ReTreeUS for guide and application information. For more information contact MSGN Program Organizer, Rachel Solomon, at rachel@msgn.org
The mission of the Maine School Garden Network is to promote and support educational gardens for youth, and to encourage school programs which teach healthy eating and environmental stewardship.
