Backyard Farms started in 2004 with their first 25 acre greenhouse to produce vine-ripened tomatoes. Since then they have expanded both their space and products.
The first variety they grew were tomatoes on the vine. They also grow a smaller variety of cocktail tomatoes as well as beefsteaks. Then they began growing their line of lettuces!
Bumblebees are kept in the greenhouse to pollinate the plants and they recycle rainwater off the greenhouse roofs to irrigate the plants!
