Each year, SeedMoney offers challenge grants to diverse food garden projects through a 30-day crowdfunding challenge running from Nov 15 to Dec 15.
Their grants are open to all types of public food garden projects (youth gardens, community gardens, food bank gardens, etc.) regardless of their location.
The grants they offer are on a sliding scale. The size of a grant a project can receive depends on how much it is able to raise over the 30-day period compared to other projects participating in the challenge.
In 2021 they offered a total of 370 grants ranging from $100 to $1000. See the graphic above for the distribution of those grants. They have a number of grants designated for gardens in Maine so chances are good at receiving one if you apply!
