What community connections do you have?
The school takes students to Aldermere Farm to help with the farm. The school has done service for Habitat for Humanity and the local animal shelters. We have run blood drives on campus. We run a scholarship program with collaborations with New Hope Maine.
Who tends the garden when school’s out?
Ashwood’s agricultural arts teacher, with help from summer camp students.
What are your future goals?
To expand the garden and more fully integrate it into our total curriculum.
What is your most significant need?
Good quality tools right-sized for students in grades 1-8.
