We began the garden project over the summer of 2024

The garden and greenhouse are located on the grounds of the school.

The school garden is a regular part of the curriculum for students in grades k-8

The garden is currently funded by the school.
What community connections do you have?
We will be working with Maine Coast Heritage Trust this fall. Students will visit Erickson Field’s farm to learn about harvesting, packaging and the business of farming.
Who tends the garden when school’s out?
Summer camp staff and the science teacher/ garden coordinator
What are your future goals?
At this point, the school has a greenhouse, but over the summer, staff tarped off a section of field that will be cultivated in the spring.
What is your most significant need?
Since we are a new program, we are in need of volunteers and tools for children such as shovels, rakes, clippers, wheel barrows, trowels etc.
