gardeners from the Phippsburg Community Garden and the community

from budget of Phippsburg Commuhnity Garden Committee and donations from volunteers

What community connections do you have?
Community members vounteer; a local tree service donates wood chips for paths; community members and gardeners donate plants; school staff undertake class projects for the PES Garden; and the PES cafeteria chef educates students about the food grown in the PES Garden.

Who tends the garden when school’s out?
Volunteers from the community and the Phippsburg Community Garden

What are your future goals?
Short-term goals are for the PES Garden to be more fully integrated into the school curriculum and for more students and parents to work in the garden. A long-term goal is to create a school garden club at PES that is centered on the PES Garden.

What is your most significant need?
Our most basic and significant need is additional funding. Community garden volunteers/residents have donated resources (plants, seeds, money), and the Phippsburg Community Garden Committee pays for seeds and supplies, but we have limited funding.
