2021
What type of facility hosts your garden?
We have an acre of land and some outbuildings for storing equipment.
What programs does your garden project include?
We have a science elective class “New England Agriculture,” an after school club, and are planning student internships that incorporate the garden
Does your garden have a paid coordinator?
No
Who volunteers in your garden?
We’re working on payment for the garden coordinator; for now it has been the OLRC director (Dylan Harry) and a faculty member (Jen Solter-Jones)
How is your garden project funded?
School Budget (although we applied for a USDA grant and will hear back in July)
What community connections do you have?
Most of our food goes to the cafeteria, the remaining food goes to a local food pantry.
Who tends the garden when school’s out?
Last year it was the program director, Dylan. This year it’ll probably be Jen and some student interns.
What are your future goals?
A vibrant program that engages many students in the design, maintenance, harvest, and food processing aspects of the garden. Also, some ag research projects.
