When was your garden project started?
We revived the existing raised beds in 2018 and have been growing ever since!
What type of facility hosts your garden?
The gardens are on our own property at the school. We are lucky enough to be on a campus with 16 beautiful acres.
What programs does your garden project include?
We have a fledgling garden club, and a Whole Health class that utilizes the garden areas. We also enjoy the garden in the aftercare program.
Does your garden have a paid coordinator?
No
Who volunteers in your garden?
Myself, some parent volunteers, and the children.
How is your garden project funded?
We do an annual fundraiser.
What community connections do you have?
We raise vegetables for the school Harvest feast, and families from our school can access the garden.
Who tends the garden when school’s out?
Teachers and our summer program staff.
What are your future goals?
We would like to set up a composting system, and we need a door for out hoophouse. We would like to improve what we have with fencing and more seating.
What is your most significant need?
The door for our hoophouse.
