When was your garden project started?
Fairview has three raised garden beds in a courtyard area. I am unsure on when they were started.
What type of facility hosts your garden?
Fairview is a PK-6th grade elementary school in a small city setting.
What programs does your garden project include?
At the moment there are no programs. I am in the beginning stages of gathering funds to further progress on the raised beds and other future projects.
Does your garden have a paid coordinator?
No
Who volunteers in your garden?
Right now it’s me. We will be having students and ed techs help in the garden as well.
How is your garden project funded?
It is not currently funded. I am looking into grants.
What community connections do you have?
None at this time.
Who tends the garden when school’s out?
That would be me.
What are your future goals?
I would love to purchase a shed to store gardening tools. There is plenty of space to add more raised beds and even a small greenhouse.
What is your most significant need?
Funds to purchase the necessary tools for expanding our school garden. A shed, tools and fresh soil/compost would be an amazing start.
