Our project was started in the fall of 2023

Courtyard behind the school
What programs does your garden project include?
LIfe skills science, math, and vocational cooking classes, and the school cafeteria. Aafter school clubs will be hosted in this courtyard for at least the 2026-2027 year for the Fairmount School which will be housed at the high school.
Does your garden have a paid coordinator?
No
Who volunteers in your garden?
1 to 2 staff on the weekend/summer.
How is your garden project funded?
We have a plant sale each spring and have recieved some financila donation from a few parents. WE also recycle cans/bottles to earn funds.
What community connections do you have?
Sprague’s Garden Centerand Blue Seal Feed located in Bangor
Who tends the garden when school’s out?
Jane Freeman and Sabrina Williams (staff at BHS)
What are your future goals?
To expand the garden and to build a 3-4 season greenhouse to grown more healthy food. Hopefully, create a class at the high school about school gardens.
What is your most significant need?
Staff to tend the garden when students are not in school for vacations and summer.
