School Garden of the Month Calendar
Fundraiser Request for Entries!
We are starting the process for the 2027 School Garden of the Month Calendar and we want you to be a part of it! The calendar is a great way to raise funds for your school garden projects whether your school is featured in the calendar or not!
Twelve schools will be selected and featured as a School Garden of the Month throughout the year. Each of these schools will also be eligible for the School Garden of the Year title and a spot on the calendar cover!
This calendar not only helps school gardens raise money for school garden projects, it also showcases the valuable role school gardens play in hands-on education, gardening and promoting healthy eating.
It’s a perfect way for school gardens to engage teachers, administrators, and community members in the values of outdoor education plus inspire other schools to start their own gardens and provide amazing thank-you gifts for local supporters.
Here’s how you can participate!
- Click on the link above and fill out the online entry form. Then upload up to 5 photos (jpg or pdf formats preferred) that illustrate your school garden!
- Make sure your school garden is registered in the free online Garden Directory. You can use the link to see if you already have a listing or submit the form to update or enter a new listing.
- Enter by the January 15th deadline.
- Plan to sell calendars at your plant sales, school events or team up with a local business to earn money for your school garden!
Sell the calendars and earn money for your school garden projects!
Whether your school is featured in the calendar this year or not, selling the calendar is an opportunity for your school garden to raise funds and spread the word about the benefits of school gardens!
Here’s how to order calendars for your school:
- Purchase calendars at the wholesale price of $10 each for a minimum order of 10 calendars. With a suggested retail price of $15 each, for every calendar you sell, you make $5!
- If you want to take orders, order a sample calendar for:
- $10 if picked up at Maine School Garden Day in May
- $15 to have the sample shipped to your school.
- After you submit your order and payment, you can request to pick up your calendars at a designated MSGN event or have your order shipped to you. Picking up calendars saves you shipping costs.Deadlines to order calendars for pickup:
- for Maine School Garden Day pickup: May 1st
- for Annual Meeting pickup: September 15th
- If you would like to get your calendars during the summer or fall, you can submit your order form and payment anytime.

Share the calendar fundraiser on your social media, mailing list, school bulletin boards, website and local businesses.
Important and Deadlines:
JANUARY 15: Calendar Entry Deadline for photographs
MAY 1: Deadline to submit order and payment for calendar pickup at Maine School Garden Day.
SUMMER and FALL: Calendar orders will be processed as received.
SEPTEMBER 15: Calendar orders due for pickup at Annual Meeting.
NOVEMBER: Calendar orders available for pickup at Annual Meeting.
