Hillary Peterson, an IPM Entomologist with the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, joins the Board with a background of working in entomology, education, and integrated pest management in several settings. Hillary earned her Ph.D. in Entomology at Penn State University where she conducted research on potential biological control agents of the invasive brown marmorated stink bug in tree fruit, and her B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Ecology at the University of Maine. Hillary has worked in the labs of Dr. Frank Drummond with honey bee biology, spotted winged drosophila, and blueberry IPM, as well as with Dr. Eleanor Groden, working with the invasive winter moth. Hillary also does lots of outreach through the Maine Entomological Society.
