When was your garden project started?
1995

What are your future goals?
With support from the new School Health Coordinator, a link will be made between all of Freeport’s 4 school gardens and the hope is to create not only beautiful but edible gardens which will provide selected produce to the school nutrition program.

Any other comments?
Our successes: Six raised bed gardens were constructed in the mid 90s and over the years have produced a variety of vegetables, flowers, and opportunities for hands-on gardening, composting, and food exploration. The MLS gardens are poised for new energy and some reconstruction.

Our challenges: Sustained interest and management.
